Commitment to Accessibility

The Whole Internet™ is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying all relevant accessibility standards to our website.

Standards Compliance

We strive to adhere to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1/2.2 Level AA standards, which are the technical requirements that ensure we’re complying with accessibility laws. WCAG 2.1/2.2 Level AA guidelines ensure digital content is accessible to users with disabilities, focusing on four principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR). Level AA is the standard for web accessibility, requiring high contrast, keyboard navigability, captions, and responsive layouts. WCAG 2.2 adds stricter focus, pointer, and navigation rules. For consumers, WCAG means a more inclusive, easier-to-use Internet where digital content is functional regardless of ability or the technology used to browse.

Measures to Support Accessibility

We take the following measures to ensure accessibility:

  • Including accessibility as part of our internal policies.
This applies to employees as well as contractors.
  • Providing training for staff.
  • Using automated and manual testing to identify issues.
  • Providing easy feedback opportunity for site visitors.

Limitations and Alternatives

Despite our best efforts, we are not perfect, and some limitations may exist. If you find an accessibility issue with our site that does not address your needs, please let us know (see Feedback section, below).

EAA Commitment

The European Accessibility Act is an EU directive requiring, among other things, that products and services (including online services) are accessible to people with disabilities. The goal and purpose of the EAA is to make Europe a more accessible place for the estimated 80 million citizens in the EU affected by disability. We at The Whole Internet strongly endorse the EAA, and are proud that accessibility has been a mainstay of our business since it was founded in 2002. We understand that the EAA requires services to be accessible by design, and for that reason, do not depend solely on the Accessibility Assistant found on every page within this site. Such tools are a quick and easy solution for consumers to apply for situations like color blindness, motor skill impairment, or seizure sensitivity to motion, but they do not address disabilities such as total blindness or deafness. There is underlying code in the stucture of websites that must be included to accomodate these needs. We have endeavored to do exactly that. However, if we have not addressed an accessibility issue that affects you or a family member, plesase reach out and contact us (see Feedback section, below).
